A lienup with Ronald Acuña batting ninth is certainly something to behold.
The Braves will have their two best position players on display Tuesday night for the MLB All Star Game in Cleveland. The lineups for the mid-summer classic were released today, and NL manager Dave Roberts has one Brave featured prominently in the heart of the order, while the other bats ninth:
National League lineup:
Yelich 7
Baez 6
Freeman 3
Bellinger 9
Arenado 5
Bell DH
Contreras 2
Marte 4
Acuña 8Ryu 1

Batting Ronald Acuña ninth is certainly a choice, but if there were a lineup where it is mildly defensible, this is it. The National League roster is stacked, and has a nice blend of young stars and established veterans.
Roberts commented on the decision to bat Acuña ninth, saying “he is the youngest, so he has to put his time in.”
Regardless of the lineup construction, there will be plenty of Braves representation on the field, with Freeman, Acuña, and Mike Soroka, and in the dugout, with Brian Snitker serving as a member of the coaching staff.
