Please leave odes to the man here
You could say he’s very amazing. Or so amazing. You could even get more creative, it’s up to you.
But boy, what a guy. Through 95 PAs, Ronald Acuña Jr. has a .495 OBP and a 227 wRC+. Sure, he’s outhitting his xwOBA by a mountain, but his xwOBA is .434. That would be fifth-best in baseball if he had enough plate appearances to be fairly compared to guys like Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, and Shohei Ohtani.
But he’s been even more absurd over his last seven games: one strikeout, eight walks, a .710 OBP, three homers, and a 368 wRC+. When he first came back, he was clearly still getting dialed in on catching up to certain pitches and the like, but he’s there now. So, again, how amazing is he? You tell me.
