Don Kelly of the Pirates was ejected yesterday. I’m not sure if it was purely to inspire his team or not. Kelly was a little heated, and to be honest Clint Vondrak is a pill, so Don probably had a point. Terry Francona and Alex MacKay were ejected on Thursday night. The Reds were pretty subdued while getting run that night. Manager tantrums aren’t what they used to be.
How much do you miss a good manager-umpire argument? I like that we have video review and ABS is on its way. But still, I miss the drama. Maybe I just miss Bobby Cox giving them hell. I know I miss the nineties.
