The Braves are looking for their fourth straight win
The Atlanta Braves are looking to get back to the .500 mark for the season Saturday night when they continue their home opening series against the Philadelphia Phillies. After starting the season with four straight losses, Atlanta has won three straight including an 8-1 win in Friday’s home opener. Saturday’s game will feature a pitching rematch from last Sunday with Ian Anderson squaring off against Zach Eflin.
Anderson wasn’t as sharp as we have seen him in his debut but he still did a good job holding the Phillies to just four hits and one run over five innings. Anderson struck out seven and walked two. Eflin was equally effective as he allowed just one run over seven innings while striking out eight.
Ronald Acuña Jr. had a big night on Friday with four hits including his third homer of the season. He is off to a great start at the plate going 11-for-28 with four doubles and three homers. Acuña is 4-for-15 with a homer in his career against Eflin. Dansby Swanson is off to a bit of a slow start going 3-for-24 over the first seven games but has had some success against Eflin in the past. Swanson has seven hits in 18 career plate appearances against Eflin including four doubles and a home run.
First pitch from Truist Park is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. ET and can be seen on Bally Sports Southeast.
