Atlanta and Boston battle at Fenway Park.
The Atlanta Braves travel to Fenway Park and the city they called home from 1876 to 1952 to take on the Boston Red Sox for a three game series at one of the most historical ballparks in all of baseball.
The Braves are coming off a four-game pit stop at home against the Washington Nationals where they won three games. In Boston, they will try to claim a winning record on the season after reaching .500 during the Nationals series.
Boston and Atlanta have been both been hovering around the .500 mark for the last couple of weeks – Boston above and Atlanta below. The Red Sox have been led by two new additions – third baseman Alex Bregman and starting pitcher Garrett Crochet – along with long-time star designated hitter Rafael Devers and young outfielder Wilyer Abreu.
Devers has been at the center of drama this year – first having to move off of third base for Bregman and then refusing to move to first base after injuries ravaged the Red Sox at that position. Those issues haven’t impacted Devers bat who is leading the American League in walks.
This won’t be the only time the Braves and Red Sox exchange pleasantries this season – the two teams will meet again at the end of this month when Boston visits Atlanta for three games.
