Brian Anderson will make his first start in a Braves uniform in place of Jarred Kelenic Thursday.
Brian Anderson will make his first start as a member of the Atlanta Braves Thursday when they begin a four-game series against the Washington Nationals. Reynaldo Lopez will get the start for Atlanta while Washington will go with lefty Mitchell Parker.
Jarred Kelenic is out of the Braves’ lineup Thursday one day after injuring his wrist on a diving grab in the sixth inning of Wednesday’s game in Boston. Kelenic initially stayed in the game, but was pinch-hit for in the eighth inning. Brian Snitker said after the game that he thought Kelenic ok, but is out of the lineup nonetheless. Adam Duvall will shift over to left field with Kelenic out with Anderson getting the start in right. Sean Murphy also returns to the lineup and is hitting sixth. Murphy left Tuesday’s game in Boston after getting hit with a pitch.
