The Atlanta Braves have added right-handed reliever José Ruiz to their 26-man roster and optioned fellow reliever Austin Cox to Triple-A.

Ruiz was claimed off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies yesterday. Cox was added to the roster yesterday after the team designated Craig Kimbrel for assignment after making his only appearance of the season on Friday night.
Ruiz, 30, was dreadful with the Phillies this season but with Atlanta’s bullpen struggling with injuries and poor performance, he is an experienced pitcher that the team can use if they have to do so.
Cox, 28, did not appear in yesterday’s game.
