McCann to catch Fried, Riley stays in eighth slot for Game 1 of Braves-Brewers

Aside from Max Fried, Snitker will use the same lineup as yesterday’s finale in San Diego

Brian Snitker has proven time after time that he is a creature of habit. He is such a creature of habit, in fact, that the only change from yesterday’s lineup will be the pitcher.

Ozzie Albies will retain his newfound assignment in the sixth slot in the lineup, while Austin Riley will bat eighth ahead of Max Fried amid his recent struggles. Even with the need for the occasional day off for a few guys, it is kind of hard to argue with the results this lineup construction has yielded recently.

The Brewers, on the other hand, will roll ‘em out like this:

The 1-2 punch of Lorenzo Cain and Christian Yelich at the top is a brutal way for Max Fried to start his night, or for him to see consecutively whenever the lineup rolls over.

Adrian Houser will face the aforementioned Fried, and try to shake his recent woes as a starter. Despite moderate levels of success as a reliever, working as a starter has not been kind to Houser (as noted in today’s preview).

First pitch is slated for 8:10pm ET.
