The Braves’ floundering centerfielder goes to the bench against a tough lefty

The Braves are staring into the abyss right now and are running out of runway to get things off the ground.

The big move today is Michael Harris taking a seat and Stuart Fairchild starting in left field. Eli White has been playing against lefties, but he takes Michael’s spot in center field while Fairchild takes his spot in the lineup. It is against a tough lefty pitcher in Luzardo for Philly, so this may not represent a major change in direction, but Harris has been catastrophic at the plate all year and has generally been starting every day. Stuart Fairchild has a below average track record at the plate, but his career numbers outpace the abysmal level at which Harris has been producing offensively this season.
