Braves News

The Braves are still evaluating their bullpen options in advance of the NLDS which gets underway next Friday. Huascar Ynoa is one of those options and Brian Snitker said following Friday’s game that Ynoa would be available out of the bullpen in the first two games but could start Game 4 if they don’t have to use him.

The Los Angels Dodgers placed veteran left-hander Clayton Kershaw on the 10-day injured list due to left forearm discomfort. Kershaw left Friday’s start in the second inning after throwing just 42 pitches.

The Colorado Rockies named Bill Schmidt as the team’s general manager Saturday. Schmidt has served as the team’s interim GM since May 3.

Prior to Saturday’s game, the Mets reinstated Robert Gsellman from the 60-day injured list and designated utility player Brandon Drury for assignment. Gsellman has been on the injured list since June 21 due to a lat strain.

The Pirates promoted shortstop prospect O’Neil Cruz Saturday and was in the lineup to make his major league debut against the Reds. Cruz was ranked No. 50 on Baseball America’s midseason prospect list.

The Philadelphia Phillies recalled Seranthony Dominguez Saturday and placed Connor Brogdon on the 10-day injured list. Dominguez will be making his return from Tommy John surgery and hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2019.
