I figure no one really wants to talk about the Braves right now
There’s not too much more to say about the 2025 Atlanta Braves, though we will keep on keeping on and say many more things about them, few of them interesting, over the remaining two-plus months of the season. But, since I doubt anyone wants to ruin their Monday morning in that fashion, I’ll ask something completely different.
I’m going on vacation next week, and, as I have already learned from being alive for a while, “going on vacation with two small children” is not actually a vacation at all. So, I’m not planning on achieving anything. But, can I manage to complete a book in the span of a week? I have no idea, and I also have no idea what to read.
That’s where you come in. Tell me what to read in the comments. The comment with the most recs will be something I A) go and purchase, provided it is possible to do so, B) attempt to read in its entirety in the first week of August, and C) will report back on. So, you have a chance to make my vacation very silly, if you can convince others to go along. I’m at your collective mercy, here.
Anyway, if you wanted something Braves-related… we go on vacation around this time more or less every year, which happens to be in the middle of the season. I still have a very fond memory of doing so in 2021, because it was just so silly… the day we left, the Braves were 51-54. They won 7 of 9 up until the point we returned (one of them being that stupid Riley Adams homering off Will Smith game), the nine-game winning streak was on deck, and you know the rest. No such turnaround is coming this time, but it’s a fond memory anyway.
