Don’t say “in the bullpen.”
It’s been a process for Spencer Strider as he returns from a yearlong layoff so far. He lacked the oomph and gave up homers in each of his first two starts back, separated as they were by another stint on the Injured List. Last night, he issued a bunch of free passes (including two that could’ve been avoided and would’ve helped his line), but also outguessed the Phillies into an outing where at least the run prevention worked.
Is he going to improve? Is this his new normal? Something else? I’m working on my “oof the 2025 Braves exegesis” so it’s a quick one today.
