Which way from here?
The Braves were cold to start the season, went sideways for a week, got hot, continued sideways for a while, got cold forgetting how to close games, and now recovered. It’s everything a 35-40 team does during a season. Right now, they are seven of their last nine and have beaten up on the Mets. They’ll have another chance to gain more ground versus the Mets and the Phillies next week.
So which way from here, fam? Are they going sideways for a while or taking a dive? Or maybe they could make a BWBG-inspired run through the end of June. If they can somehow get themselves to .500 around July 2nd, they will greeted by Jurickson Profar. Profar has been killing Triple-A pitching for what it’s worth, so maybe they continue the run. Or New York and Philadelphia, sick of the paddlings absorbed over the last 35 years, could bury the Braves and high five each other. I could see anything happening here.
