Georgia Tech is making an lucrative tweak to the name of its home football stadium.
On Tuesday, the University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents approved a name change for Bobby Dodd Stadium. No, the legendary former head coach and athletic director’s name isn’t being removed, but it will be corporatized.
As part of a multi-decade agreement with Hyundai, Georgia Tech will now play at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field.
The change is worth $55 million over 20 years, according to ABC Atlanta’s Zach Klein.

Dodd, who played college football and basketball at Tennessee from 1928-30, spent more than four decades at Georgia Tech as a coach and administrator.
The Virginia native was an assistant football coach for the Yellow Jackets from 1931-44 before running the program from 1945-66. He also served as the head coach of the Georgia Tech baseball team from 1932-39.
A Georgia Sports Hall of Famer, Dodd led the Yellow Jackets to a 165-64-8 mark in football, winning SEC championships in 1951 and 1952 and the coveted national title in 1952.
Georgia Tech named its football stadium after Dodd in April 1988, two months before he passed away at the age of 79.
