Georgia Tech vs. NC State – Staff Predictions

November 21, 2024 by From The Rumble Seat

NCAA Football: North Carolina State at Georgia Tech
Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Here’s how the FTRS staff thinks Tech will do against NC State!

Benjamin Tankersley

Georgia Tech wins 31-17.

NC State’s rush defense is not very good, and Georgia Tech is pretty good at running the ball. I think Brent Key solidifies a winning record this week against the Wolfpack.

Logan

Georgia Tech wins 28-17.

Big ‘ole trap game right here. NC State has not looked great on defense in general and their O-line has been struggling since the start of the year. Despite all the negatives The Wolfpack have been putting things together as the year has gone on. The Wolfpack are also coming off a bye week and most NC State fans are looking at this game as a must win to avoid leaving their bowl chances in the hands of the UNC rivalry game next week. GT will need to be on their A game against a Wolfpack team that wants to prove they are more than their record indicates. GT should win this one, despite Brent Key’s struggles after big wins. GT is 3-0-1 against the spread at home this year, I expect us to cover but don’t be surprised if NC State makes the game more exciting than we think.

Jack Purdy

Georgia Tech wins 30-20

As always, I don’t think our defense will be fully impervious, but they’ll do enough to help us retain control throughout the game. I don’t believe that this is a trap game. Both teams are coming off a bye. Tech has shown what they are in these last two games and it’s good enough to beat some of the best teams in the country. I think we’re past the hump of these kinds of games being closer than they should be with a healthy squad. And remember last year, we got better and better as the season went along. Even with the injuries, we are easily a more solid team than we were back in Dublin.
