Have we cleared the traditional time period for personnel (players or coaching) changes in football?

tyler_pifer92: Mustaf is now out 2-4 weeks before being reevaluated. I know this team hasn’t been good all year, but all of these injuries need to be taken into consideration, no?

Rob: Absolutely, injuries should definitely be taken into consideration when evaluating the team’s performance. The absence of key players like Kowacie Reeves, Javian McCollum, Lance Terry, and Luke O’Brien has undoubtedly impacted the team’s ability to compete effectively.

  • Reeves could have provided a much-needed scoring boost, especially considering his strong start to the season with 15, 17, and 15 points in the first three games.
  • McCollum has been crucial, and his presence might have changed the outcome of the UNC game.
  • Terry, as the team’s leading scorer, was sorely missed against Clemson, and getting him back is essential.

The team has been relying heavily on a six-man rotation, leading to players like Nait George, Baye Ndongo, and McCollum logging significant minutes, which can lead to fatigue (that fatigue can maybe partially explain the teams 313th ranked free throw shooting percentage).

However, it’s also important to acknowledge that while injuries have played a significant role, the team should still be performing better despite these challenges. Coach Stoudamire has shown flashes of potential, and with a fully healthy team next year, he has most likely earned another chance to demonstrate what he can achieve.

Injuries are a part of sports, but their impact on this season can’t be ignored. Hopefully, with a healthier roster, the team can bounce back stronger.

Yeller Bug: Have we cleared the traditional time period for personnel (players or coaching) changes in football?

Ben: With Georgia Tech announcing their coaching hires today, I expect that they are done. As far as the portal, I believe we’re in the dead period right now, so I wouldn’t expect to see much else happen there until after Spring practice wraps up.
