NCAA Baseball + Softball Tournament Projections, 5/1 Update

Both Tech Softball & Baseball still sit in our projected tournament field

It was not the best week for the Georgia Tech in the two base sports, baseball extending their losing streak to seven games before a Kent Schmidt walkoff to get back in the win column on Sunday against Virginia.

Softball faced a gauntlet, playing #24 Georgia before a series against #19 Clemson, dropping all four games in that stretch.

The good news: we still have Georgia Tech projected to make the NCAA Tournament field in both sports. The bad news: baseball no longer is projected to host a regional, and softball is teetering ever closer to the wrong side of the at-large bids, but a win in the ACC Tournament could shore up their spot.

Here at FTRS, we have our own NCAA Projection methodology created by Jake Grant, coined the Universal Selection Index (USI), that has a 95% success rate of correctly predicting who will make the tournament field.
