
Tech’s first national championship since 2007
What it says on the tin — this is hot off the presses!
- Tech’s first NCAA national championship since women’s tennis in 2007.
- Tech golf’s fourth individual champion: Troy Matteson (‘02), Charlie Yates (‘34), Watts Gunn (‘27)
- Tai also receives an amateur bid to the 2025 Masters
As a team, Tech advanced to the NCAA match play quarterfinals as the 8th seed — they’ll face off versus #1 Illinois at 9:50am ET (https://twitter.com/GTGolf/status/1795283711774302574). GOLF Channel (and Peacock) will have coverage of the quarterfinals and semifinals from 1-3:30pm ET + 6-10pm ET on Tuesday, May 28.

- Tech baseball is into the NCAA tournament as a #3 seed in the Athens regional — they’ll play #2 UNCW at 7pm ET on Friday, May 31
- Golf’s Christo Lamprecht had to pull out of the NCAA tournament due to a back injury, but finished #2 in the PGA Tour U rankings and has earned a Korn Ferry Tour bid
