Let’s beat those dwags!
Do you feel the hatred in the air? Tonight is the spring edition of Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate, as the Tech Beesball team is in Athens ready to face u(sic)GA. The bulldwags are having a pretty good season so far, with a record of 26-13 (9-9 SEC). They have had a run of good form in the past few weeks, winning 8 of their past 11 games. Tech will need a strong start from Dalton Smith, who is taking the mound first for the Jackets. The bats will also need to pick up, there have been a few disappointing hitting performances in the last few games. You can catch the game beginning at 7 p.m. ET on the SECN.
It’s official, point guard and Grayson High School graduate Deivon Smith is with the Georgia Tech Men’s Basketball team. Smith spent his first collegiate season at Mississippi State, where he averaged over 22 minutes, 5.2 points and 0.9 steals per contest. Coming out of high school at Grayson, Smith was a highly-rated four-star recruit (.9776 composite rating) that carried offers from many ACC and SEC schools including Alabama, Louisville, N.C. State. Smith is known for his athleticism and his constant motor on the court. Welcome to Atlanta, Deivon!
Spring games are notoriously hard to glean concrete stats from (especially when Geoff Collins is the head coach). There was an extra period, commercial breaks that cut into plays, and a non-emphasis on hitting certain players. Nevertheless, our own Robert Binion attempted to analyze some advanced stats from Friday night’s inter-team showdown. From what Robert could tell, Jeff Sims had a great game, if he plays like he did in the Spring Game he will rocket up people’s watchlists. Transfer WR Kyric McGowan also looked good, making catches and cutting through the defense with ease. Granted, this was just a Spring Game, so looks can (and will) be a little deceiving. How many more days until football season?

I can’t believe it’s already draft week. Time flies when you’re having fun (well, something like fun). Good luck to all those who are looking to play at the next level!
Question of the Day: Do you think Pressley Harvin III will be drafted before the 7th round?
