Football team travelling to Ireland
The Yellow Jackets golf team will be competing in another National Championship. As the article mentions, seniors Christo Lamprecht and Bartley Forrester led the team to a 7-under performance as Tech finished in fourth place at the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional.
The championship will take place from Friday, May 24 through Wednesday, May 29, and the event will be held at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. Good luck to Georgia Tech’s men’s golf team as it competes in this year’s golf National Championship.
As exciting as it is to hear about Georgia Tech’s success in athletic events, it can be just as gratifying to hear about the success of its student-athletes in the classroom. This year’s student-athletes were exemplary, even by Tech standards.
As the article says, Tech’s student-athletes posted “a 3.25 mean grade point average – the highest in Tech athletics history”. That is quite impressive. The article goes on to mention several other impressive metrics set by this year’s student-athletes. Congratulations to them as they continue to impress both on and off the field.
ESPN’s College Gameday is going to Dublin, Ireland and it’s taking Georgia Tech and Florida State along with it for what will be its first-ever international game. FSU is the defending ACC Champions and the game will be a key challenge for the Yellow Jackets. As the article states, Tech will see a lot of its key offensive starters returning next season. While FSU lost some key players, it should still be a strong favorite in the ACC.
The article states the game will be a huge test for the Yellow Jackets. Hopefully, they can continue to build on their success from last season, and a victory over FSU would certainly be a great way to start. The game will take place on August 24th and will be televised by ESPN at 12:00 ET (5:00 p.m. Dublin time). #GoJackets
