For the third time since 2018, Alabama and Georgia are set to meet in the SEC Championship Game. Will Georgia see their quest for a third straight national title continue without a hinder, or will Alabama once again foil their plans?
On Thursday, 247Sports analysts Chris Hummer and Brad Crawford released their predictions for the SEC Championship Game. Both analysts believe that Georgia will get the win, but by different means.
Hummer has Georgia winning the game 34-31 but did not offer a full explanation of his decision. Crawford predicts a 27-20 Georgia win and explained why he has the Bulldogs covering the 5.5-point spread:
“It’s difficult for me to overlook the Iron Bowl as simply a closely-played rivalry game and not worry with Alabama’s warts. Yes, Georgia Tech competed with Georgia and that was a one-possession game in the end, but it was never that close. The Bulldogs are on a mission with 29 consecutive wins and know a loss in Atlanta to the Crimson Tide might make this entire season coming crashing down short of a final four berth. Motivation is a factor here for me. I’m going with Georgia…” Crawford wrote.

Alabama won seven straight meetings with Georgia dating back to 2008, with three of those wins coming in the SEC Championship Game and one coming in the national championship game of the 2017 season.
But Georgia finally got a tally on the board with a win over Alabama in the national title game for the 2021 season.
Will Georgia make it two in a row this weekend?
