EA Sports Names Clear No. 1 Team In New NCAA Football Video Game

EA Sports has stirred up no shortage of controversy in the leadup to the release of College Football 25 with many of their rankings. But they may have settled the waters with their ranking of the top overall team in the country.

On Friday, EA Sports revealed its ranking of the top 10 teams in the game based on their overall ranking. Taking the coveted No. 1 spot with an overall score of 95 was the Georgia Bulldogs.

Ohio State and Oregon ranked second and third respectively with scores of 93, while Alabama and Texas were fourth and fifth with 92. Clemson, Notre Dame and LSU made the top 10 with scores of 90, while Penn State and Utah rounded out the top 10 with 88.

Here’s the full top 10 ranking:

While there were plenty of complaints about the overall list – Michigan missing the cut, Colorado’s ranking, etc. – you’ll be hard-pressed to find anyone questioning the decision to have Georgia at the top.

That’s probably for good reason. Georgia have lost only two games in the past three years – both to SEC rival Alabama – while winning two national titles. They have not lost to a non-SEC team since 2016.

Would you have chosen a different team for the No. 1 college football program in the country in College Football 25?
