A top recruit in the 2024 class has flipped his commitment from Georgia to a fellow SEC school.
Four-star safety Peyton Woodyard has flipped to Alabama and said that head coach Nick Saban was a key factor in his decision.
The opportunity to be coached by Nick Saban was huge for me,” Woodyard said, via 247Sports. “He’s heavily involved with the defensive backs and specifically the safeties and that was big for me.”
Woodyard also discussed how Alabama has a long track record of developing safeties, such as Minkah Fitzpatrick.
He’s currently the ninth-best recruit in his home state (California) and the sixth-best safety in the country, per 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also the No. 81 overall recruit in the country, regardless of position.
He plays for St. John Bosco High School and is set to have his season starts in September.
