ESPN Computer Picks Winner Of No. 2 Georgia vs. No. 4 Alabama

Georgia Football Star Arrested On Serious Charges (1:06)

College football’s Week 5 is serving up a banger in the primetime slot with a top-five matchup between SEC foes.

Kirby Smart’s No. 2 Bulldogs head down to Tuscaloosa for a massive road test against Kalen DeBoer and the No. 4 Crimson Tide.

Only one team can leave Saturday’s game undefeated. And despite entering as 1.5-point favorites according to ESPN BET, the network’s computer model has Georgia dropping its first regular season game in nearly four years to Alabama.

Per the FPI, Bama has a 65.6% chance of winning to UGA’s 34.4%. A lot of that seemingly has to do with the Dawgs poor performance against Kentucky last week — which saw them barely escape with a 13-12 victory.

“College GameDay” will also be in the house for this one. It’s the first time the two have met at a non-neutral site location in four years.

Coach Smart knows the challenge that his program faces going up against a talent like QB Jalen Milroe.

“He is as different a football player in college football as I’ve played against in a long time,” Smart said Monday. “Because people think he’s just a runner, and that’s not the case. He has a tremendous arm and can do things with his arm that other people can’t.”

“He can reach spots on the field and get it there faster than you can break on it, better than most arm talent people. So it’s a tremendous challenge to defend a guy like him.”

We’ll see how Georgia’s defense can hold up come 7:30 PM ET on ABC and ESPN+.
