ESPN Getting Crushed For Not Showing Start Of Georgia-Kentucky Game

September 16, 2024 by The Spun

Where They Are Now- Former ESPN Personalities (1:16)

There have been a lot of lopsided football games on Saturday which networks probably wanted to switch away from to keep audiences engaged. But one game that had long-since been decided was apparently kept on past the start of one of the week’s marquee games.

As today’s SEC matchup between No. 1 Georgia and Kentucky kicked off, ESPN audiences in a number of regions appear to have missed the opening moments of the game due to the ongoing Texas A&M-Florida game. The Aggies have been handily beating the Gators by double digits in this game.

With the outcome largely decided as Georgia-Kentucky began, fans were fuming at ESPN for making them continue to watch Texas A&M-Florida:

“Why is it so (expletive) difficult for @espn and @abc to tell us which channel the Georgia Kentucky game will be on? I see 7:49, but the current game won’t be over then. Will it be on abc? Another channel? Why haven’t the commentators acknowledged it when we’re past original KO time?” one user wrote on X.

“You gotta be (expletive) me. Don’t tell me we have to finish watching this Florida game before being able to watch Georgia vs Kentucky,” wrote another.

“Alright @ABC where the (expletive) is the Georgia v Kentucky game nobody wants to see A&M and Florida anymore,” a third declared.

“Do we really have to wait to watch A&M finish their best down of Florida to watch Georgia begin their beatdown of Kentucky? Cmon @espn

If it’s any consolation, there hasn’t been any scoring yet in the game. The Bulldogs were favored by 21.5 points heading into Lexington.

The game is (finally) being played on ESPN.
