The 2022 college football season is still several months away, but ESPN has already released an updated version of its “way-too-early” top 25.
At the top of the list is Alabama. Despite losing a lot of talent to the NFL, Nick Saban’s squad still has star linebacker Will Anderson Jr. and Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young.
The No. 2 ranked team on this list is Ohio State, which still has C.J. Stroud and Jaxson Smith-Njigba. That quarterback-wideout duo should be one of the best in the country this fall.
Georgia, Utah and Texas A&M round out the top five for ESPN’s latest power rankings.
Here’s the top 10, via ESPN:
- Ohio State
- Texas A&M
- Notre Dame
- NC State
- Michigan State
- Oklahoma State
The full top 25 from ESPN can be seen here.
Notable programs like Clemson, Oklahoma and USC all made the cut, but they were unable to crack the top 10.
ESPN may provide an updated top 25 as we inch closer to the 2022 season.
