As disappointed as the Florida State Seminoles were to be relegated to the Orange Bowl rather than receive a spot in the College Football Playoff, Mike Norvell is still looking forward to the game and readying his roster.
But with starting quarterback Jordan Travis out for the season and second-string Tate Rodemaker dealing with injuries, Norvell is going to give the starting nod to Brock Glenn.
“Brock, who started the [ACC] championship game for us, is going to be the starter here for the Orange Bowl,” Norvell said told Warchant TV. “I’m definitely excited for him to take a step from his first start to his second start. A lot of confidence at what he’ll be able to do and what he’ll be able to accomplish. It’s part of the new age of college athletics and I know Brock is fired up and excited for the opportunity that he has.”
Glenn was unremarkable in the Seminoles’ ACC Championship Game win over Louisville. He went just 8-of-his-21 for 55 yards through the air with no touchdowns and took four sacks.
A performance like that probably won’t be enough against the Georgia Bulldogs this Saturday but at this point the game is really more about getting players experience for next year than anything else.
Will Brock Glenn be able to lead Florida State to a big upset of the Georgia Bulldogs?
