In Dawg Nation, we love us some DGDs – Damn Good Dawgs for the uninitiated. Yesterday, college football nation said goodbye to a DGD. Kirk Herbstreit’s dog, Ben, passed away yesterday after battling cancer. Ben accompanied Herbstreit everywhere during the 2024 season, from College Gameday to the games Herbstreit would call later that day. Everywhere he went, the people loved Ben. Rest in peace, Ben, and sending our condolences to the Herbstreit family.
In rivalry news, Florida has announced that they will be keeping Billy Napier as head coach, sending shock waves through the coaching carousel. On one hand, Napier has Florida playing hard; on the other, he is 15-18 as Florida head coach. 2025 will clearly be a make-or-break year for Napier at Florida.
Finally, a TikTok has made the rounds of a passerby catching Kirby chewing out the guys at practice on a Monday. Needless to say it’s been well received among the Georgia faithful, knowing Kirby is coaching them hard.
