G Day 2024 Open Thread: How to watch and what to watch for in Sanford Stadium

It’s Game Day!

Well, sort of. Your Georgia Bulldogs will play the 2024 G-Day football game today upon beautiful Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium.

Unfortunately watching the game is going to require some tech skills. The game will be a streaming-only affair on SEC Network+, ESPN+, and Hulu. Kickoff is at 1:00 eastern.

There’s less mystery than average from a position battle standpoint than in the average year. Carson Beck is 100% your starter at quarterback. Ernest Greene is entrenched at left tackle, Malaki Starks will be your leader at safety. Dillon Bell, Dominic Lovett and RaRa Thomas will be the bulk of the receiver rotation.

More interesting will be the chance to see some of the transfers and freshmen who have raised eye brows this spring. For example Vandy transfer London Humphrey, Miami transfer Colbie Young, and former Southern Cal standout Michael Jackson will be looking to make an impression, as will lightning quick freshman Sacovie White.

We’ll get to see elite freshman DB recruits KJ Bolden and Ellis Robinson, IV. Ryan Puglisi will likely throw his first passes in Sanford Stadium. And talented five star linebacker recruits Chris Cole and Justin Williams will have a chance to prove they belong in a talented rotation.

But as much as anything, today is our first chance as Bulldog fans to get a look at the team we’ll cheer for this fall. That’s always something to look forward to, and always something to celebrate. So fire up the grill, crack open a beverage, greet old tailgate friends, and join us to talk about all the action before, during and after.

It’s Saturday in Athens!

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
