Georgia will look to get back to their winning ways as they head into regional play

The Georgia Bulldogs went through a short week of play this past week as the Dawgs lost in the opening round of the SEC tournament against the LSU Tigers. Georgia struggled offensively all throughout the game as balls just weren’t falling in their favor. LSU pitcher, Gage Jump turned in a very impressive outing for the Tigers as he pitched seven total innings and allowed just four hits and one run against a very tough Georgia offense. The Dawgs’ pitching staff also struggled all throughout the afternoon as Georgia sent out five total arms to the mound as those arms gave up a combined fourteen total hits and nine earned runs. With the loss, Georgia more than likely played themselves out of hosting a super regional if they were to make it past regional play as it would be a surprise if the Dawgs are able to hold on to their top eight National ranking.

Georgia will now try to rest up and set their focus to regional play in which they will host their first regional since 2019. If the Dawgs are able to win their regional, they will advance to their first Super Regional since 2008 which also happens to be the last time the Dawgs reached the College World Series. Conference tournament play will conclude today as the NCAA College Baseball selection show will take place tomorrow at noon on ESPN2 to determine who will be playing against Georgia in the Athens regional.
