Georgia’s football program is under heavy fire Tuesday for firing recruiting staffer Victoria “Tory” Bowles.
Bowles survived a January crash that took the life of Georgia offensive lineman Devin Willock and another staff member.
The timing of Georgia’s decision is suspect to say the least. Less than a month ago, Bowles filed a lawsuit against the Bulldogs’ athletic association.
Georgia, on the other hand, claims Bowles was fired because she refused to cooperate with an internal investigation into the January crash.
Unsurprisingly, Georgia is getting criticized for firing Bowles despite all she has been through.

“Not a good look,” one person wrote. “I am very curious what is going to come of her lawsuit, in which she claimed to have evidence that UGA authorized the use of those state-rented vehicles after hours, contrary to what they stated repeatedly in the press.”

Another person said, “Terrible look, even if the policies support this decision. We can’t seem to get out of our own way this off-season. Ready for games to start so we can get back to positivity. Truly feel for Tory and hope she recovers.”

Rob Buck, an attorney representing Bowles, claims Georgia has tried to “intimidate” his client.
“Tory, like all other perceived liabilities to the football program, became expendable to UGA, and despite her loyalty and meager salary, has been steamrolled,” Buck said.
This situation isn’t going away anytime soon, regardless of Georgia’s decision to fire Bowles.
