The Georgia Bulldogs got another W (which head coach Kirby Smart will no-doubt claim occurred in spite of “doubters”) but this time it’s on the recruiting trail – and at the expense of one of their biggest rivals.

According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, four-star defensive lineman Nasir Johnson has flipped his commitment from Florida to Georgia. Johnson had been a Gators commit since June.

“I just feel like since UGA has the better background with producing and developing,” Johnson told Fawcett. “I would be better off there and want to be developed to the point where I’m league ready by the time I leave college. I wanna be another one of those first round draft picks that Georgia is producing.”

247Sports rates Johnson as the No. 75 prospect in the Class of 2024. He is the No. 14 defensive lineman in the country and the No. 13 player from the state of Georgia.

Georgia currently have the No. 1 overall recruiting class for 2024, per 247Sports. That’s due in no small part to the presence of quarterback Dylan Raiola, the No. 2 player in the country and No. 1 quarterback in the class.

Of their 28 recruits in the 2024 class, 20 of them are ranked with four stars or more.

Life continues to be good if you’re a Georgia fan.
