Niagara transfer Noah Thomasson is headed to Georgia.
The 6-foot-3 senior also considered St. John’s, Penn State, Pitt and San Francisco.
“It was many factors,” he told 247Sports.com. “As a kid from Texas having a chance to be closer to the south is something that was a blessing. My dad lives in Atlanta and I didn’t know a lot about Athens but I got up there and it felt like home. The coaching staff built a great family environment that I am high on and it felt like a great fit for me.”
Thomasson averaged 19.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists last season.
“A veteran guard,” he told 247 of what skillset he will bring. “We are bringing in some high schoolers and transfers and I want to be that guard that young guys can rely on, use me for advice. You are looking at a guy that is all in on winning, that has a complete game that can bringing whatever is needed to the team. Whether that is playmaking, score or whatever.”
He is the fourth transfer for Georgia following Russel Tchewa (USF), Jalen Deloach (VCU) and RJ Melendez (Illinois).
Coach Mike White’s team also has a four-man recruiting class with Silas Demary Jr., Dylan James, Mari Jordan and Blue Cain.
