Recently, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck made some waves when he purchased a Lamborghini Urus Performante, which costs at least $270,000.
While some people may have made a big deal about Beck’s new whip, the Bulldogs star downplayed the significance of his Lambo during a media session Tuesday.
“I mean, yeah, it’s not a big deal at all in my opinion. It’s like I said. I love cars. I got a car. That’s really all it is,” Beck said, via 247Sports. “Obviously a lot of people are going to look at it and say what a terrible decision, what a terrible choice with his money. But it’s just a car. It’s not too big of a deal. I just drive it around.”
Must be nice to “just drive around” a car that costs more than a quarter of a million dollars. Beck has not specified if he bought the car with NIL money or if it was part of a marketing deal.
The Jacksonville, Fla. native is a self-described car aficionado, whose tastes evolved over time from Ford Mustangs to Lamborghinis.
“I’ve always been car guy since I was a kid. I grew up always loving cars. My dream car when I was super, super young was always a Mustang. I’ve never had a Mustang, but I kinda grew out of it when I was 14 or 15. I’ve always been a huge car guy,” Beck said. “Growing into that, and being able to associate myself with that brand, it’s a large brand name. Being able to get that car, it’s obviously a blessing. Being able to associate myself [with Lamborghini] and get that car, it’s been awesome.”
Last season, Beck established himself as one of the top quarterbacks in college football in his first season as a starter.
If he keeps that performance up in 2024, the former four-star recruit will likely be a first-round pick in the NFL Draft next spring.
If that happens, he’ll be able to afford another pricey automobile for sure.
