Georgia wide receiver Tyler Williams has entered the transfer portal.
Williams, who redshirted for the Bulldogs last season, announced his decision Tuesday on Instagram. He has four years of college eligibility remaining.
The 6-foot-4 converted quarterback committed to Georgia in late 2022 as a four-star recruit. Williams, who also played high school basketball, received offers from other prominent programs such as Auburn, Texas A&M, Alabama, and LSU.
Williams saw his only action for the Bulldogs when catching a four-yard pass in a 49-21 victory over UAB on Sept. 23.
Williams became the second Georgia wide receiver to enter the transfer portal, which officially opened Tuesday, following last weekend’s spring game. Walk-on Braxton Hicks will also seek a new opportunity,
Running back Andrew Paul, who gained 143 yards and two touchdowns in his first year, additionally entered the portal this week. SEC rules prevent any spring transfers from playing for another team within the conference this fall.
Georgia’s offense will look different without Ladd McConkey, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, and star tight end Brock Bowers. Kirby Smart added senior Michael Jackson III and sophomore London Humphreys through the portal to join a receiver group headlined by Dominic Lovett and Dillon Bell.
The Bulldogs’ quest for a three-peat ended when they suffered their only loss of the 2023 season to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game. They took out their frustration on Florida State in a 63-3 Orange Bowl rout.
