Kirby Smart On Georgia: ‘Everybody Has Doubted Us’

In what is quickly becoming the most exhausting grift in all of sports, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is once again going after nameless, faceless “doubters” of his two-time defending national champions.

Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show, Smart declared that “everybody has doubted us and given us motivation” when asked about the team’s pursuit of a third national championship. The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 1 in the AP Poll (and have stayed there since October 2022) and are No. 2 in the College Football Playoff.

“Everybody has doubted us and given us motivation all year… The CFP rankings haven’t come across my desk and I don’t care… I really don’t think our team cares and we gotta go out and do it on the field,” Smart said.

College football fans collectively rolled their eyes at that remark and are pointing out that nobody has doubted him or his team at all in several years:

“lol. Poor Georgia. The plucky little 2-time defending champ underdog,” one user replied.

“Yeah for sure everyone has been doubting them during the 26 game winning streak,” another wrote.

“Has one person picked Georgia to actually lose a game this season yet?” a third pointed out.

Georgia are 10.5-point favorites in tomorrow’s game against No. 10 Ole Miss.
