Look: RG3 Ranks His Top 5 College Football Teams

September 27, 2021 by The Spun Leave a Comment

Arkansas celebrates a touchdown.

Through four weeks of the college football season, Robert Griffin III has a grasp on which teams are best in the sport right now.

RG3 ranked the top teams in college football via Twitter on Monday. To no surprise, Alabama lands at No. 1 followed by Georgia. Each has looked the part and should wind up meeting in the SEC Championship Game. The real mystery in the rankings begins after Alabama and Georgia.

RG3 likes what he’s seen from the Oregon Ducks so far this season. They check in at No. 3. Oregon handled Arizona 41-19 late Saturday night in Eugene. After Oregon comes Arkansas and Ole Miss at a tie at No. 4 followed by Penn State at No. 5.

Take a look.

We’re going to learn a ton about each of these teams this weekend.

No. 1 Alabama hosts No. 12 Ole Miss in Tuscaloosa. No. 2 Georgia hosts No. 8 Arkansas in Athens. No. 3 Oregon travels to Palo Alto to take on Stanford. Penn State, meanwhile, probably has the easiest test of the bunch in a Big Ten showdown against Indiana.

We’ve already seen plenty of parity take place within college football this season. Will that continue on Saturday? Ole Miss beating Alabama or Arkansas beating Georgia would create all sorts of chaos throughout the college football landscape.

Right now, though, Alabama and Georgia are far and away the most impressive teams in the country so far this season. Who would you rank at No. 3?
