Let the Madness begin.

The NCAA basketball tournament kicks off at noon across your television dial/streaming services. But the main event for Bulldog fans is around 4:20 this afternoon when the Georgia Bulldogs make their triumphant return to the Big Dance after a 10 year absence. The #9 seeded Red and Black will take on #8 Gonzaga with television coverage on TBS.

Gonzaga finished the pre-tournament season 25-8 and as champions of the West Coast Conference. Senior forward Graham Ike is Gonzaga’s leading scorer with 17.1 points per game, and is also pulling down a team-leading 7.1 rebounds per contest. Senior guard Ryan Nembhard averages 9.8 assists. The Zags are led by legendary coach Mark Few, who has made 13 Sweet Sixteen appearances in his 26 seasons in Spokane.

The Bulldogs are certainly the underdog in this one. But they have also played some of their best ball of the season down the stretch, and have been battle-tested in the best conference in the nation. The Hoop Hounds have played 19 games this season against teams playing in the Big Dance. It will be interesting to see if that translates over to the bright lights of March Madness.

this will be the place for all your thoughts and friendly banter on today’s games, up to an including Georgia’s contest against Gonzaga.

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
