The Friday Tailgate: Low Tide Edition

Welcome to the Friday Tailgate, as good a place as any to ride out the storms of life until toe meets leather tomorrow evening in Tuscaloosa. Maestro, the music please:

Every college football season seems to have a handful of watershed moments in which we see the proverbial wheat sorted from the gridiron chaff. This Georgia/Alabama matchup feels like one of those showdowns which will bring the pecking order into sharper relief.

I answered a few questions about the game over at our SB Nation sister site Roll Bama Roll recently, and as you’ll see I’m not exactly a fount of optimism. But stranger things have happened than Georgia going on the road with a solid plan and a veteran squad and beating the Tide. If you see a clear path to victory in this one, I’d love to hear about it in the comments. Interestingly, it doesn’t sound like Team Gump is terribly confident, either.

In addition to that, I’m glad to be back with the latest installment of our favorite game before the game, Over or Under. By now you probably know the rules (though an explainer is available). I ask you, Over or Under?

  1. Jalen Milroe throws 1.9 touchdown passes.
  2. Carson Beck throws 1.9 touchdown passes.
  3. Ryan Williams catches 0.9 touchdown passes for the Tide.
    4. Colbie Young catches 0.9 touchdown passes for the Dawgs.
  4. Georgia rushes for 149.9 yards.
  5. Alabama rushes for 149.9 yards.
  6. Georgia picks off Milroe 0.9 times.
  7. Peyton Woodring kicks 1.9 field goals.
  8. Nate Frazier has 5.9 carries.
  9. Cash Jones has 2.9 carries.
  10. Alabama sacks Carson Beck 2.9 times.
  11. Georgia is flagged for 0.9 fewer penalty yards than Alabama.
  12. No Over or Under on this one. What’s your final score prediction?

Y’all have a great evening, and…

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
