It’s a great time to be an NFL quarterback. Not only do they get most of the credit for their team’s success, they also get most of their team’s money. The Jacksonville Jaguars made fourth-year QB Trevor Lawrence one of the highest-paid players in NFL history on Thursday evening.
Lawrence and the Jaguars agreed to terms on a five-year contract extension worth $275 million, including $200 million guarantees. The former No. 1 overall pick’s reported $55 million average annual salary ties that of Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow, the largest of any player in league history.
