The preseason is over, and between now and Tuesday afternoon, the Falcons will have to cut down to a 53 man roster.
With the final preseason game over, the Atlanta Falcons can begin culling their roster at any moment. It’s likely we’ll learn about their roster cuts in a couple of waves between now and Tuesday, and my bet is that by the end of the weekend, we’ll know about most of them.
This is a somber time and an exciting time all at once. Obviously, players losing their jobs is the crummy part of this time of year, with some never getting another chance to chase their NFL dreams. We wish those players well, and for those landing elsewhere on practice squads or rosters, we’re hopeful they’ll thrive. For fans and the 53 players who remain—plus those who stick around on the Falcons practice squad—it’s thrilling to know we’re almost to the regular season and we’ll get to see those players in action soon enough.
We’ll have a cuts tracker below, with a confirmed cuts list for those either reported by solid journalists or confirmed by the Falcons. Stay tuned here as we break down what’s ahead.
