The Atlanta Falcons are moving forward with Desmond Ridder as their starting quarterback and are letting go of one former college star quarterback go.
According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, the Falcons are releasing Feleipe Franks this week. Franks played quarterback at the University of Florida and the University of Arkansas but has switched to tight end after a rough rookie season.
After going undrafted in 2021, Franks played in one game as a quarterback, throwing an interception on the only passing attempt of his career. The following year he moved to tight end and was targeted twice, making no receptions.
Franks might be hard-pressed to find an NFL roster spot with the limited sample size of game film that he has.

As for the Atlanta Falcons, their quarterbacks room now consists of Ridder, Taylor Heinicke and journeyman Logan Woodside.
That quarterback lineup may not inspire a whole lot of confidence in fans, but the NFC South is pretty up for grabs this season. Anything can happen.
How many games will the Falcons win this season?
