Cardinals Could Consider Blockbuster Trade in Massive Overhaul

January 11, 2026 by Last Word On Pro Football

As the Arizona Cardinals are entering a rebuilding phase, the team could trade first-round bust wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. during the offseason. According to a source, they believe Harrison is a top trade candidate since he has yet to breakout in an offensive scheme that appears to be benefiting his fellow teammate, Michael Wilson, instead. After a slow 2024 campaign, the Cardinals were hopeful that Harrison could turn things around in his sophomore season in the league, but it hasn’t exactly gone that way. Harrison hauled in 41 receptions for 608 receiving yards, while Wilson broke out and looks to be earning himself the top role in the receiver department.

Cardinals Could Consider Blockbuster Marvin Harrison Jr. Trade in Massive Overhaul

What makes Harrison’s situation worse is that the Cardinals are going to start from scratch and bring in a new quarterback. While he hasn’t been able to acclimate to the offense led by Kyler Murray, there’s going to be a delay in Harrison’s ability to grow as a pass-catcher in the NFL. The Cardinals might do the young receiver a favor and trade him to a team that’s already established with an adequate quarterback.

Harrison’s dad, the Hall of Famer, expressed his criticism of the offense. It’s not only been difficult for Harrison, but his family feels like the Cardinals aren’t the right fit for him. Once Arizona officially parts ways with Murray, nobody should be surprised if the Cardinals put Harrison on the trade block. They already have Wilson, who is emerging as their top weapon, which leads Harrison to the back burner and could join these three teams to revive his career.

Next Possible Teams

Baltimore Ravens

With John Harbaugh gone, the offense in Baltimore could change massively, which could come at the expense of Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman. Lamar Jackson can’t afford to lose any of them, but the chances of them staying a part of this roster are slim. Bateman likely presents a better trade situation even though he signed a new contract extension. He’s coming off a slow 2025 season and might have to join another team where he could thrive.

This would leave Flowers needing a WR2, and with DeAndre Hopkins entering the market, the Ravens could trade for Harrison and join Flowers in the receiving corps to add some fresh hands for Jackson.

Atlanta Falcons

Meanwhile, the Falcons are expected to overhaul as well. After firing head coach Raheem Morris, the team will likely find another quarterback in this year’s draft, depending on who they hire. Drake London is a top-five receiver in the league, so it’s not expected that the Falcons will trade him. However, Darnell Mooney might be on the back burner.

If Mooney gets traded, the Falcons could trade for Harrison to give Michael Penix Jr. or whoever will be the starter for the offense a clean slate.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Similar to the situation in Arizona, the Jaguars have seen production drop from Brian Thomas Jr. this regular season. Jacksonville traded for Jakobi Meyers for that reason, especially since they lost rookie Travis Hunter to a season-ending injury. If anyone can use a high-caliber weapon with a lot of potential, it’s Trevor Lawrence.
