Commanders rule out key defender ahead SNF game vs. Falcons

December 27, 2024 by Falcons Wire

The Washington Commanders will be without No. 1 cornerback Marshon Lattimore in this weekend’s prime-time matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Despite making his Commanders debut in Week 16, the veteran has been ruled out for Sunday’s game due to a chronic hamstring issue.

Lattimore, who spent his first seven seasons in New Orleans, was acquired by Washington in a trade last month. The former Saints cornerback has faced the Falcons 11 times in his career, recording 36 solo tackles, 12 passes defended and two interceptions.

Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who missed time this week due to an ankle injury, is good to go for Sunday’s game.

Lattimore is a four-time Pro Bowler and former Defensive Rookie of the Year. The 28-year-old has appeared in just nine games this season.

The Falcons will also have their top wide receiver as Drake London (knee) was not given an injury designation for Week 17. London is closing in on his first 1,000-yard season (978 yards).

Sunday night’s game starts at 8:20 p.m. ET and will air nationally on NBC,
