Details Of Kirk Cousins’ Monster Falcons Contract Are Out

One thing Kirk Cousins is always going to do, it’s get himself paid.

Cousins has signed several massive contracts throughout his NFL career, and has reportedly agreed to another one with the Atlanta Falcons.

The details on Cousins’ deal with Atlanta are in, via NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, and they are very favorable for the veteran signal caller.

“The #Falcons are signing Kirk Cousins to a four-year, $180 million contract that includes a $50M signing bonus, per sources,” Pelissero tweeted. “Another monster payday for Cousins, who gets $100 guaranteed — $90M in 2024 and ‘25, plus another $10M in 2026 — and a fresh start in Atlanta at age 35.”

Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis tallied up all of Cousins’ earnings since entering the league as a fourth-round pick in 2012.

Collectively, he’s signed for over $400 million and cleared almost $330 million in fully guaranteed money.

contracts signed by Kirk Cousins:

2012: standard 4-yr rookie deal
2016: $19.9M fully guaranteed
2017: $23.9M fully guaranteed
2018: $84.0M fully guaranteed
2020: $66.0M fully guaranteed
2022: $35.0M fully guaranteed
2024: $150M ($100M fully guaranteed)

career: $411M thru…

Pretty impressive for a guy who wasn’t even the best quarterback in his first team’s draft class the year he was picked. Washington took Robert Griffin III at No. 2 overall 12 years ago and added Cousins in the middle rounds as insurance.

Now, more than a decade later, no one, perhaps in the history of the NFL, has performed better at the bank than Kirk.
