The Atlanta Falcons seem to feel like they’ve found the quarterback that’s going to lead them into the future.
After moving on from veteran Marcus Mariota last year in favor of rookie Desmond Ridder, the former third-round pick has made a believer out of team owner Arthur Blank.
“We feel pretty strongly that he’s going to be our quarterback of the future,” Blank said, via Falcons beat writer Josh Kendall. “We have to play games and we have to see, but we feel good about him.”

Ridder started the last four games for Atlanta last season where he completed 63.5% of his passes for 708 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
The NFC South figures to be wide open in 2023 with the departure of Tom Brady and new faces in Carolina and New Orleans.
Coming out of college, Ridder was regarded as a four-year starter and winner with a strong work ethic and the ability to process information quickly. It sounds like the Falcons are giving him the keys to continue that development this season.
