Atlanta hosts a scuffling NFC East foe looking to get right on the road.
The Atlanta Falcons earned a key divisional win. The Dallas Cowboys have lost two games in a row, a surprisingly close loss to the 49ers and an absolute beatdown at the hands of the surging Lions.
Something will have to give this week. The Cowboys are mediocre offensively despite their star power and abysmal defensively despite the obvious talent there, but they’ve won three out of four road games. The Falcons have shown themselves to be capable of attacking lesser defenses and will be facing a weak rushing attack, but they’ve lost three of their four games at home in 2024.
This is another key game for both parties. The Falcons can run their record against the NFC to a sterling 6-1, which will both keep them ahead of the Buccaneers and give them more tiebreaker-based ammunition for their playoff run. The Cowboys can stay afloat in the NFC East, where the Commanders are excelling and the Eagles are awakening from their slumber, and a couple more tough losses might be the end of the Mike McCarthy era in Dallas.
