There’s a good chance we’ll see him play on Sunday.
The Falcons will be down both Russell Gage and Frank Darby on Sunday, and though we’ve yet to see Darby play, that’s two receivers you’re going without. That leaves a thin receiver corps of Calvin Ridley, Olamide Zaccheaus, Tajae Sharp and Christian Blake, and while the Falcons figure to involve Hayden Hurst and Cordarrelle Patterson more as receiving options to help offset the loss of Gage, that’s probably fewer players than Atlanta’s comfortable rolling with.
That would explain why they’ve flexed Juwan Green to the active roster for tomorrow.
We have flexed WR Juwan Green to the active roster.

Green, who is still just 23 years old, joined the Falcons as an undrafted free agent after the 2020 NFL Draft and has been with the team ever since, though he has been cut and added to the practice squad a couple of times over that span. He has solid size and good speed, and had impressive moments during this past preseason, including a Week 3 performance against the Browns where he led all Falcons in receptions and yards and scored the only touchdown of the game for Atlanta. Zaccheaus will get the most run with Gage out, but given that Sharpe and Blake have been fairly quiet and haven’t played much to this point, there’s a better-than-decent chance that Green ends up seeing reps at receiver against the Giants, as well as work on special teams.
The Falcons could use more depth at receiver both now and in the future, so if Green shows them something this week, it’s always possible he’ll be back up later this season. Either way, let’s hope this receiving corps can impress against a so far so-so Giants secondary on Sunday.
