The Falcons brought in three wide receivers for work outs on Thursday.

On Thursday, it was announced that the Atlanta Falcons would be without one of their receiving options in tight end Jaeden Graham who is reportedly out for the season with a knee injury.

With Graham being placed on the reserve/injured list, the team has an opening on the roster, and whether it was pre-planned or not, the team hosted three wide receivers on Thursday: Bennie Fowler, Aleva Hifo and Khalil Tate.

Fowler is definitely the most recognizable of the three wide receiver that the Falcons brought in, and also the most experienced. Fowler started five games for the Denver Broncos from 2015-2017, before joining the New York Giants where he started seven games from 2018-2019. In 2020, he had a brief stint with the New Orleans Saints before being placed on injured reserve after undergoing shoulder surgery in October.

The former BYU prospect, Hifo signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020 but was ultimately cut loose as the team slimmed down the roster.

After going undrafted in 2020, Tate, a former quarterback at Arizona, signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as a wide receiver. He was eventually waived on July 20, 2020, before being signed to a reserve/futures contract on January 13, 2021. The Eagles then waived Tate on June 9, 2021.

Assuming one of these mentioned players are signed, they would likely be battling it out for a reserve role with the team. The Falcons already have some talented young wide receivers on the roster, which makes seeing any of the three having a path to making an impact or even making the roster difficult. We’ll see if the team picks up any of the three or running back D’Onta Foreman, who visited the other day.
