Vegas doesn’t like this one very much.
What do you get when you have two flailing teams in the league’s worst division facing off? You get oddsmakers who want zero to do with the contest, as is the case with the Falcons hosting the Saints on Sunday. Per DraftKings Sportsbook, Atlanta has opened as mere one-point favorites against New Orleans, the archrivals’ first meeting this season.
Falcons-Saints games are always wacky affairs, and with the Falcons handing the reins back to benched quarterback Desmond Ridder, who really knows what to make of this game.
The Saints and Falcons are both emerging from their respective bye weeks, with each team coming off of a loss in Week 10. New Orleans’ quarterback Derek Carr has been battling both a shoulder injury and a concussion, so the Falcons may not know who will suit up under center for the Saints until later in the week.
For Atlanta, it will have a shot to snap its three-game losing streak and remain (surprisingly) in the thick of the NFC South divisional race. They currently sit one game behind the Saints in the standings. To do so, Desmond Ridder will have to show he’s tightened up the ball security issues that contributed to his benching earlier in the season.
